KYLE'S FIELD

Kyle’s Field - Accessible and Adaptive Technology for All

We invite you to explore our curated collection of accessible and adaptive technology in honor of 12th Man Co-Founder Kyle Cox ’18.

Kyle, the son of our CEO and Co-Founder Kristen Cox ’83, was diagnosed at a young age with Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy. Despite the challenges he faced, he defied expectations and lived a full, purpose-driven life, celebrating his 30th birthday before passing on January 5, 2026. He lived by the mantra, “It’s the disABILITY” a belief he carried into everything he did.

Kyle was more than an inspiration. He was the heart behind 12th Man Technology. While many knew him as Kristen’s son, those closest to the company recognized him as its true founder in spirit. His vision, resilience, and perspective shaped our mission from the very beginning, often working behind the scenes to guide ideas and help grow the company. He was a passionate advocate for accessibility, adaptive sports, and inclusion.

Appointed by Governor Greg Abbott to serve on multiple state boards, including the Texas Council for Developmental Disabilities, Kyle worked to expand visibility and opportunity for others like him. Known for his sharp analytical mind and unwavering determination, he exemplified the Aggie Core Values in every aspect of his life. Kyle earned his bachelor’s degree from Texas A&M, completed his master’s at the Bush School, and was pursuing his doctorate at the time of his passing. His academic work focused on the disparities faced by individuals with disabilities and how assistive technology can help close that gap. That work continues to guide and inspire our mission today.

We created Kyle’s Field as a tribute that reflects both his deep love for Aggie traditions and his field of study. This page, thoughtfully inspired by longtime employee, David Athans, is dedicated to honoring Kyle’s legacy, carrying forward his belief that innovation can empower ability and create opportunity for all.
